THE ALPHA WALKWAY

University of Nigeria, Enugu campus 

This institute of learning was established in 1961 with the faculties of Business administration, Environmental studies, Law Medical sciences and Health sciences. It yearns as its motto states "To restore the dignity of man" and I as well can identify which such a desire. 

I believe that to understand the abysmal state of the university infrastructure and facilities, you and I must take look at the state of school from the perspective of any student. There is an ever growing lack of accommodation each year, unconducive living infrastructure in use, lack of facilities required to teach effectively, a general mental state of neglect for the environment by student, degrading buildings and lack of general maintenance of such buildings. 

On further investigation, I realized that the state of things is due to both students and University leaders over the years who have seen the University as a stepping stone in the grand scheme of their journey.

Even though such issues are objective but the desire, funding and necessary means are not in the numbers. 

THE ALPHA WALKWAY

The Great Alpha have embarked on a charity project in the university of Nigeria, Enugu campus which involved the restoration of the Alpha walkway that helps connect the old refectory to faculty of Law. It had been in a sorry state and as it seems not only I had the disposition to make a difference and do what they felt is required.

On inspection of the vicinity, I believe the project was a success and returning some ambiance to this area of school in day and as well at night.

The Great Alpha, established in the University of Nigeria in 1960 have certainly been active over the years with their last charity project being in Nsukka following the recent security concerns in the area. The male student club in question is a group dedicated to the cultivating leadership, integrity and growth in young men and as well participating in philanthropic activities within and beyond the University community.
